TREMEC TR-3160 six-speed transmission
The TR-3160 is designed for either a single or double overdrive transmission. Found in high-performance vehicle applications, this transmission incorporates the latest design and manufacturing technologies that provide the highest torque capacity and best-in-class shift feel.
Based on an 81mm center distance, the TR-3160 utilizes SAE 4120H steel on all gears and shafts – maximizing torque capacity and durability while minimizing weight and packaging size.
The multi-rail shift system accommodates direct mount and semi-remote shifter locations that provide greater flexibility while reducing Noise Vibration Harshness (NVH).
Triple cone hybrid synchronizers offer lightning-quick gear changes with fluid-like engagement. The act of shifting itself is greatly enhanced by a sophisticated rail mechanism that promotes precise, shift throw and a positive shift feel.
The TR-3160 is found in Cadillac’s tremendously successful “Art & Science” design language of the all-new 2013 ATS compact luxury sport sedan.
TREMEC TR-6060 six-speed transmission
The TR-6060 is the latest in the TREMEC high-performance transmission family. It is designed to help our OEM customers more effectively make use of their extreme power and torque offerings.
Featuring all-new compact synchronizers, TREMEC engineers created additional space for substantially wider gears – thus increasing torque capacity while creating shorter throws and a better shift feel.
The gears utilize a two-piece design with the clutch-teeth laser-beam welded to the main gear. This allows a much more precise machining operation compared to a net-shape, one-piece forged design.
Double and triple cone synchronizers have a larger diameter providing additional contact area. The synchronizer material has been updated from a carbon particle paper to a sintered bronze material – further enhancing shift performance.
The TR-6060 is found in current production models of select Chrysler brands (the SRT® Viper and Challenger SRT), Ford performance vehicles (the Shelby Cobra GT500), and GM fun-to-drive vehicles (the Cadillac CTS-V, the Camaro SS and ZL1, and the Corvette ZR1 and Grand Sport Coupe)
