Success strategies for product launch of redesigned 10-speed commercial truck transmission
Pedro Escobedo, Mexico - - Emphasizing its commitment to performance excellence, TREMEC held a Supplier Conference on August 12th to launch the redesigned 10-speed twin countershaft transmission for heavy duty commercial trucks.
“The conference engaged our supply chain community in an open spirit of working together for our collective success,” said Emilio Esparza, TREMEC global purchasing director. “The agenda was focused on communicating requirements on quality, logistics and supplier commitment to delivering world class components.”
Suppliers from the U.S., Brazil and Mexico participated in the one-day conference where they shared in discussions on supply chain management – including transportation, timing, tracking, effective communications, and raw/indirect material handling. A technical review of the 10-speed transmission and product engineering was presented, followed by a tour of the facility where the manufacturing process was examined. The event ended with one-on-one meetings with TREMEC representatives to confirm the level of commitment by each of these strategic partners.
Presentations were given by Emilio Esparza, purchasing director, Jaime Mendoza, operations director, Jurgen Schelfaut, project manager, Raúl Rayas, product engineering manager, Marco Gutierrez, supplier quality and development manager, and Martin Contreras, logistics supervisor.
